The following list of recordings was assembled from the very well-researched and documented book "Bix, The Leon Bix Beidebecke Story" by Philip and Linda Evans, Prelike Press, 1998. The list includes only the titles of the songs and the dates on which they were recorded. Complete information about each recording, including personnel, record labels and numbers is available in the book by Evans and Evans. The list consists mostly of original 78 rpm issues, but it also includes takes which were only issued years after the original recordings were made, sometime on LP format. Each released take of every recording is included in the list, and is numbered individually. The list differs slightly from the lists in "Bix: Man and Legend" by Richard Sudhalter and Philip Evans, Arlington House, 1974; in the Sunbeam set of recordings "Sincerely, Bix Beiderbecke", Sunbeam Records, Inc., 1988, which was researched by Alan Roberts and John R. T. Davies; and in Brian Rust's essential discographies "Jazz Records, 1897-1942", Arlington House, 1978, and The American Dance Band Discography, 1917-1942, Arlington House, 1975. The recordings (141, 142, 143 and 243) not included in the lists of Sudhalter and Evans, and of Brian Rust are discussed in the next section. Recording 259 (as well as 141, 142, 143 and 243) is not viewed as a Bix recording in the list of Roberts and Davies, and is discussed in detail in the next section. Additional recordings, which are assigned by others to Bix or are considered "possible Bix recordings", are not included in the following list, but are discussed in the next section.
